Mole Removal - To Get Rid of Mole

what is mole?

Mole as any dark spot or irregularity in the skin and medical name is a melanocytic nevus.

A mole is darker in color and is solid. In comparison, a wart is a softer structure which is translucent and marked with veins.

Moles normally appear in the 1st year of life and peak in number in the 2nd or 3rd decade, when
the average number is 25. The total number of moles on the skin increases with significant sun
exposure and in particular with sunburns before the age of 12. Some moles may disappear in the seventh to ninth decade.

Causes of mole

  • Moles may darken after exposure to the sun, during the teen years and during pregnancy.
  • Moles are very small dark spots on the skin that develop as a result of sun exposure.
  • Some people are born with moles. Other moles appear over time.
  • Certain types of moles that come with an increased risk of melanoma - or skin cancer.
  • Moles are usually brown in color but may also be pink or black.

Mole Removal

Mole removal is a simple procedure that can have little or no recuperation period. A mole is generally any dark spot or irregularity in the skin and they are extremely common. Because moles can cause self-consciousness, embarrassment and sometimes even discomfort, removal is often the answer. Mole removal is usually quick, simple and often takes no more than twenty minutes. Removal of moles and cysts are both extremely common occurrences on the face, but are the cause of self-consciousness, embarrassment or even discomfort for many men and women of all ages. They can, however, be removed quickly and simply on an outpatient basis.

Some of the methods to get rid of mole are :-

  • An excision with cauterization: The mole is burned away using a cautery tool. Stitches are not required for this procedure as the wound is burn-sutured, and will heal naturally.
  • A laser surgery procedure: The mole is eliminated using a laser. Because the laser procedure seals blood vessels and eliminates the tissue they remove by evaporation, there is no need for sutures or cutting. In some cases, the scar tissue may be less and less visible by utilizing this method.
  • A shave biopsy may be used for moles that protrude above the skin surface. Once the area is numbed with anesthetic, a scalpel removes the portion of the mole that is above skin at skin level. Usually, a flat, white mark is left in place of the mole, however in some cases the flat mark may remain the same color as the mole was.
